25 JULY 2019 UEFA Champions League : Bate Borisov vs Rosenborg

Date : 25 JULY 2019
Time : 01 : 00 AM
Match : Bate Borisov vs Rosenborg
Prediction : 2 : 1

BATE Borisov and Rosenborg face each other in the first leg of the Champions League second qualifying round in what is expected to be one of the most interesting games of Tuesday’s program. BATE proved their worth in the double-header against Polish champions Piast Gliwice, meaning that they are brimming with confidence ahead of the visit of Rosenborg.
The Belarusians are leading the standings in the domestic championship and seeing that Eirik Horneland’s troops often struggle on the travels in European competitions, we are tempted to put our money on the hosts. The Norwegian champions made a slow start to the season, but despite showing signs of improvement of late, we do not believe that they are capable of grabbing something from Tuesday’s clash. You should bear in mind that Rosenborg recorded only one win in previous ten away matches in the elite competition.
HIGHLIGHTED PLAYER (MIKHAIL GORDEJCHUK):
Mikhail Gordeichuk is a Belarusian footballer who was born in Saran, Kazakhstan (SSSR) on October 23, 1989. Gordeichuk started his youth career at Shakhter Karagandy, but he made his senior debut for Volna Pinsk in the 2008/2009 season. After scoring 10 goals in 45 appearances for the club the midfielder joined Naftan Novopolotsk in 2010 and he played 32 games in the Belarusian top flight for the club.
In 2011 he moved to BATE Borisov, but he was quickly sent on loan to Belshina Bobruisk. In 2013 he signed a permanent deal with Belshina and it has to be noted that he made 53 appearances in the league (in total) for the Spartak Stadium outfit. Mikhail Gordeichuk then decided to return to BATE Borisov and he has been playing for the most successful Belarusian club ever since. It has to be noted that he won his fourth Belarusian Premier League title with BATE in 2016.
Speaking of his international career, Gordeichuk has established himself as a first-team regular at the Belarus national football team and he scored his first ever goal for the former Soviet republic in a 5-1 win over Liechtenstein on May 21, 2014.
HIGHLIGHTED TEAM (ROSENBORG):
Rosenberg are undisputedly the most famous Norwegian club. The Troillongan have participated in the Champions League group stages on several occasions and they are the dominant force in the Norwegian Premier League. Rosenborg won their 24th (record) domestic title in 2016, with the team finishing the season 15 points clear of second-placed Brann.
The Norwegian side are well known for their black and white kits and Lerkendal Stadion is the club’s home ground. The capacity of the venue is 21.405 and the stadium was opened back in 1947. John Carew is the most notable footballer who played for Rosenborg in the past and it has to be noted that the powerful centre-forward scored 18 goals in 18 appearances in the league for the Troillongan.
Nowadays Nicklas Bendtner wears Rosenborg shirt, but he did not help the Norwegian champions make it to the Champions League group stages. Rosenborg eliminated Dundalk in the second qualifying round, but Scottish side Celtic proved to be a big catch for Kare Hedley Ingebrigtsen’s troops in round 3.
