A North London Exodus: Three Arsenal stars that could be heading for the Emirates exit this summer

While Arsenal might be inching towards a blockbuster deal for West Ham skipper Declan Rice, many are expecting what could be a real north London exodus this summer.

Left heartbroken last month as they failed to dethrone Manchester City and get their hands on a first Premier League crown since 2004, Mikel Arteta’s side are desperate to mount another title charge next season.

Expected to break the bank this summer as they remain in talks for Ajax ace Jurrien Timber, the Gunners are set for a hectic couple of months before the summer transfer window slams shut.

With the 2023/24 campaign fast approaching, we have taken a look at a trio of Arsenal stars who could be heading for the Emirates exit this summer.

Folarin Balogun

With Gabriel Jesus making an immediate impact after making the move from Manchester City last summer, it appears that the Brazilian ace has cemented his spot as Arteta’s number-one striking option next season.

However, while many around the Emirates might be desperate for Folarin Balogun to be handed a first-team chance in north London, Arsenal’s academy graduate appears to have accepted that his long-term future is outside of the capital.

Enjoying what was a stunning season-long loan spell with French outfit Reims and notching 21 Ligue 1 strikes, it is no secret that the USA international has a string of admirers this summer. With only the trio of Kylian Mbappe, Alexandre Lacazette and Jonathan David notching more Ligue 1 strikes last season, Balogun has made it clear that he is only keen on being Arsenal’s number-one choice going forward.

With The Sun reporting on Saturday that the Gunners have placed a £35million price tag on the former England U-21 star and have already received inquiries from the likes of both AC and Inter Milan.

Eddie Nketiah With it expected that Chelsea star Kai Havertz will complete a shock move to north London this week, Eddie Nketiah finds himself in an almost identical position to Balogun when it comes to the 24-year-old’s long-term future at the Emirates.

Signing off the 2022/23 campaign by failing to find the net in each of his final 14 straight appearances, the England U-21 record-breaker has failed to cement his spot as Arteta’s main man.

While Nketiah might have only been handed Arsenal’s famous number 14 jersey last summer, many around the red half of north London feel that it is time for their homegrown talent to kickstart his career somewhere else.

Falling Balogun in stating that he wants regular first-team action next season, talkSPORT

reported over the weekend that Nketiah is ‘unsettled’ by Havertz’s imminent arrival at the Emirates in a deal worth in the region of £65million.

However, with plenty of Premier League admirers, The Sun are suggesting that both West Ham and Crystal Palace are among the top-flight clubs keeping an eye on Nketiah’s situation.

Thomas Partey

With Arsenal expected to spend a club record £100million in their pursuit of Rice this summer, it appears that Arteta could be planning on a real midfield overhaul ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

Along with continued reports that former Chelsea ace Jorginho could already be on his way out of north London less than a year after arriving at the Emirates, Thomas Partey also looks set for a shock exciters over the coming weeks.

While the ex-Atletico Madrid midfielder might have been a regular in Arteta’s title charge last season, Partey has largely struggled with his consistency and it looks like the Arsenal hierarchy are already looking to cash in on the Ghana international.

Becoming the latest Premier League star to attract Saudi Arabian interest this summer, Partey also has plenty of heavyweight admirers from across Europe.

With The Metro reporting on Sunday that the 30-year-old has made it clear that his priority is to stay in Europe, Italian giants Juventus remain keen on striking what could be a cut-price deal.
