It seems that Birmingham’s highly-rated young midfielder Jude Bellingham could be set for a summer move to Manchester United. The 16-year-old recently visited the Red Devils training ground Carrington. United legend Sir Alex Ferguson greeted the youngster, which reportedly impressed the midfielder and his family.
The midfielder is one of the most promising young players in the English game. Bellingham has scored four goals and produced two assists this season. He is already earning comparisons with the likes of Steven Gerrard and Dele Alli. No doubt he looks to have a bright future in the game and looks unlikely to be at Championship for much longer after bursting onto the football scene.
His talent and potential have led to interest from all over Europe. According to the Metro, German giants Dortmund have already agreed a fee of around £31million to sign the youngster this summer. BVB are famous for giving young players first-team opportunities and developing young players.
The likes of Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland are the latest youngsters to thrive at the German club. A switch to German football may well appeal to the young midfielder. The prospect of playing Champions League football is one of the attractions of Dortmund.
Opportunities at United for youngsters
Dortmund gives youngsters an opportunity, but current United head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has also started building a talented young team. The Norwegian’s policy of bringing in young players is designed to give the Red Devils success in the long-term.
Bellingham would no doubt fit the mould of players that Manchester United are attempting to bring in and build their team around. He is the sort of player who could come into the squad and be in there for a decade or more. At a prospective fee of around £50million, he could turn out to be a highly shrewd signing in these days of crazy transfer fees. The interest in the youngster has seemingly pushed the fee for the midfielder up.
Solskjaer seems to be moving the team in the right direction. Signing a top young player like Bellingham would seem to be a shrewd move, especially as the youngster comes across a guy with such a mature outlook on life.
It seems likely that if he did complete a big-money summer move, he would then spend next season out on loan elsewhere.
United currently in the Champions League spots
As we stand, Manchester United are currently fifth-place in the Premier League. The Red Devils are currently odds of 1/2 to finish in their current position and landing a spot in Europe’s elite competition. A return to Europe’s elite competition in the near future is a must if the Red Devils are to return to their glory days.
With an emergency Premier League meeting due to take place later this morning, there are serious doubts over whether the top-flight campaign can finish. However, if it does and United seal a Champions League spot, then it will only serve as proof that the Red Devils are on the up. Players like Bellingham will see that and see United as a more attractive proposition if they are back in Europe’s elite competition. READ MORE : www.l7gaming.com
