Wolves 0-3 Manchester City: Three Things We Learned

The first game of the weekend took place at Molineux on Saturday as Wolverhampton Wanderers played host to Manchester City. While many were hoping for a competitive encounter, it proved to be anything but as the reigning champions of England put the hosts to the sword with a 3-0 victory in the Black Country.

Today, we’re going to pick out a few things we came to learn following their meeting.

Limitless talent

Manchester City have attacking options coming out of their ears, to the point whereby they had so many talented players on the bench that they didn’t even need to rely on. City are known for being so relentlessly dominant in just about every phase of the pitch and with Erling Haaland leading the line, we genuinely don’t know what’s going to stop them – if anything feasibly can, that is.

Toothless Wolves

The big problem for Wolves is the problem that has haunted them for a few years now, and it’s that ever since the head injury to Raul Jimenez, they really haven’t been able to find the back of the net on a consistent basis. Whether that be due to managerial shortcomings or the players not meshing together on the training pitch, you have to be a little bit worried if you’re Bruno Lage on this Monday morning.

Champions-elect?

Manchester City are currently behind Arsenal in the Premier League table but you do have to question how long that’s going to last for. The only issues they really have are defensive-based and even at that juncture, they look fairly solid, with a clean sheet to their name last night. It really does come down to how they measure up the importance of the Premier League in comparison to the Champions League but one way or the other, Pep Guardiola’s men will win silverware this season.
