November 26th: Saturday’s Football Accumulator – 7/1

With the World Cup taking center stage this weekend, football fans are treated to a string of eye-catching affairs from across the globe. So, for those of you looking to stick on a Saturday acca, we have found a handful of helpful tips that are worth taking note of.

Saturday November 26th

BST 14:00 Parma vs Modena

Managing to make an immediate return to winning ways last time out with a thumping display at the Stadio Ennio Tardini, Parma will be looking to lay down another marker here. Eventually cruising their way to a 3-1 victory against Cittadella on November 12th, Fabio Pecchia’s men have their sights firmly set on securing a Serie A return this season. Opening this weekend’s fixtures sat just three points adrift of finding a route into the top-two, the Crusaders are tipped as a leading promotion contender this time around. Losing just a pair of their last nine matchups across all formats – a run that stems all the way back to September 10th – the one-time Verona boss has seen his side gain a reputation for their extended success on home soil. Including an eye-catching 1-0 win against fellow promotion hopefuls Bari last month, Parma have won each of their last five straight showdowns in front of their own supporters. On the flip side, while Modena might have been last seen snatching a 1-1 draw at home against Perugia, Saturday’s guests are firmly at the heart of a relegation scrap. Despite making their Serie B return over the summer, it should be noted that the Canaries have failed to win any of their previous five appearances across all competitions. Suffering a 3-1 loss when they last made the trip to the Stadio Ennio Tardini back in 2016, we’re backing a similar home victory here.

Tip: Parma win & Over 1.5 goals @ 5/4

15:00 Walsall vs Carlisle

Starting with Saturday’s hosts, last seen landing a 2-1 victory at home against Crawley thanks to another impressive display, Walsall have the feel of a side riding a recent wave. Finding a way into the top-half of the League Two standings, the Saddlers are unbeaten in each of their last six matchups across all formats. Extending on their FA Cup adventure on November 5th thanks to a rugged 2-0 win away at Wycombe, Michael Flynn’s side have also continued on a real purple patch in the Midlands. On a run that is highlighted by a pair of 3-1 romps against AFC Wimbledon and Harrogate last month, Walsall have won five of their previous six showdowns at the Bescot Stadium. Boosted by their last-gasp comeback against Crawley last weekend, the former Newport boss will be calling on his side to lay down another marker here. However, watching Carlisle cruise their way to a stellar 4-1 victory away at Salford last time out, Saturday’s guests have gained a string of plaudits from across League Two this season. Battling it out in the play-off chase, Paul Simpson’s side are enjoying a five-match unbeaten run and they have found a clinical edge in the final third. Including a thrilling 3-3 draw away at Harrogate on October 11th, the Cumbrians have bagged 11 strikes on their recent flurry. Two sides who should find the moods in their respective camps at a real high, neutrals could be treated to an enjoyable affair this weekend.

Tip: Both teams to score @ 21/20

19:00 Argentina vs Mexico

Left stunned earlier in the week as they opened their World Cup adventure with an infamous 2-1 loss at the hands of Saudi Arabia, Argentina will know that they need an immediate response on Saturday night. However, although Lionel Scaloni’s men might have seen their remarkable 36-match unbeaten run come to an abrupt end, the South American giants are still seen as one of the leading contenders in Qatar. Looking to lay down a belated marker in Lusail, there is no doubt that La Albiceleste will be calling on their attacking icon to spearhead their charge. Converting from the spot on Tuesday and opening his World Cup account, seven-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi has now notched 13 goals for club and country since opening the 2022/23 campaign. Knowing that they will have the world’s eyes on them this weekend, Argentina should be boosted by their rather rampant record against Mexico. Including a 4-0 romp when they last faced off against their Group C rivals back in 2019, Scaloni’s side have won each of their last three showdowns against Saturday’s opponents by an aggregate score of 8-0. Although the Tricolor might have opened their World Cup adventure with a hard-fought 0-0 stalemate against Poland, Gerardo Martino’s men have struggled with their consistency over recent times. Picking up just a trio of victories from any of their previous 10 contests across all competitions, we’re backing Argentina to open their World Cup adventure at the second attempt.

Tip: Argentina win & Under 4.5 goals @ 19/20

Parma vs Modena – Parma win & Over 1.5 goals @ 5/4
